PSHE

We offer shows tackling relevant issues for young people to get to grips with:
The sessions run in a forum theatre style for 1.5 hours.

What is forum theatre?

Forum theatre originated from a style of theatre known as Theatre of the Oppressed. Augusto Boal wanted the audience to question what they were watching, and to intervene and actively participate; thus experiencing a catharsis at the end of the show, a purging and an enlightenment.

This is perfect for PSHE - an opportunity for the audience to engage, question, think and explore alternatives. The students can engage as 'spect - actors', exploring with a facilitator the factors that affect our lives around the topic, how to master situations, and educate themselves to a positive outcome.

Our performance & workshopping session align with the national curriculum for PSHE.

Topics:

Online Safety
Knife Crime

History

We are very excited to expand our repertoire into GCSE history for the first time this year, and have added two brand new interactive workshops and performance shows for 2023, bringing history to life!
Our mission is to educate in a fun and engaging way, our workshops give students a chance to discuss and evaluate key historical events that have shaped our world, bringing the facts off the page and into life.
Each of our two shows begin with an original play written by our Artistic Director,
followed by a workshop, which includes a talk on the period bringing Historical moments to life and a Q&A session.

In The Elizabethan era, students will be transported to a world of adventure, intrigue, personalities, plots and power struggles. At the centre was Elizabeth 1, ‘The Virgin Queen’, who ruled England between 1558-1603

In The Interwar years 1918-1939 we explore the chain of events from the WW1 armistice to the rise of Hitler
and the key reasons that led to the outbreak of WW2.
